There are only three steps to finding real success in any field, three simple methods that are guaranteed to work. The challenge will not be accepting these steps as a path to success, but the difficulty is in walking the path.
Never Quit
It is either reach the goal or drop dead on that field while pursuing something you are passionate about. 99% of success is staying the distance. You might need talent, luck, education, money, etc. to get where you want to be, but ultimately, you need to stay the distance and walk the path.
There will be so many reasons to stop. These reasons will seem so compelling. Legitimate justifications that you can pass to yourself and your friends about why the original plan is no longer viable. An excuse for why that business had to close, why the studies had been put on hold, why you are not hitting the gym anymore.
So let’s lift the lid on all that malarkey, the reason most people fail at anything is that they stopped turning up. That is what happens, right?
If you had kept turning up at the business, college or gym, you would have the result you originally wanted. It got hard, and you stopped turning up with the same consistency and vigor you started with, results slowed and then you made up stories about why you are not sticking to what you said you would — very believable stories. Well stop doing that, stop giving yourself exits. There are no good justifications to quit. A no retreat mentality is where the real fighting starts.
There might be times when you need to change direction, tweak the plan, back up and take another entry. That is fine; just keep moving forward and turning up.
While this is probably the greatest advice I have for success. Adopting an ethos of never giving up, means you need to be careful about where you direct your efforts, you will be in it to the end from now on.
Learn in Open play
Learning, in general, is good, analysing different approaches, review different peoples methods and considering all the current strategies in use. You would be silly to start any serious endeavour without some research into what others are doing now and have done in the past. This research should never stop.
I think that sort of learning probably only accounts for 5% of a true masters skill in any field. Human minds are problem-solving supercomputers, program up to the destination, and it starts spitting out routes, faster than you can say Google Maps. Program up to a destination that you are passionate about and you will be waking up in the middle of the night with ideas. With reasonable risk assessment, act on those ideas put them into play. You win the game by playing, the more you play, the more you win. Let the process teach you, be brave enough to own your mistakes and adjust future effort accordingly. When you meet a true master of business management or play sport against a top-level competitor, you know they did not get that way from books. You can see it in their eyes; they have come up through the school of hard knocks. Street savvy lessons that can only be taught from failure in open play. Get in the game, stay in the game and let the game sharpen you up.
I said at the start these are simple steps to success, this one is easy, play a game long enough, and you get good, could not be easier right? The thing is, there is no shortcut to experiential knowledge; taking the hits makes you hard. The truth is, it hurts and most will quit before they have finished all their lessons.
Personal Assessment
You have to know where you are right now to plot a course. Success starts through accurate self-awareness. Being able to assess your strengths and weaknesses in any given area is crucial to any self-development. For most of us, success means reaching something someone else has probably already done. Very few of us are breaking any new ground at the start of a pursuit. So look at what those people are doing, what are their strengths? How are they getting what you want? Honestly assess what you are doing in comparison, this is hard stuff. Admitting weakness is not for everyone, but it will save you a lot of toil in the end.
If you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperilled in a hundred battles.
Sun Tzu, Art Of War.
Staying true to your goals starts with your understanding of your current position, and distends to cover to the target and the capacity of your plain.
These three steps are tried and tested methods to reach success in any area of your life. As I said at the start, you will all agree these methods are sound, believing the theory is easy, applying them is the difference between mastery and mediocrity.
I wish you the best of luck with pursuing your dream and finding your Better Life Living.

At 43 years old, I can earnestly say I am addicted to learning and will be a student for life. I had been waiting to feel like a grown-up, but lately, have come to realise I am probably as grown up as I will ever be. I enjoy positively influencing people, growing vegetables and trying to make things with my hands.
