My two good friends that I trust to read my blogs before publishing them tell me Better Life Living needs a meet the author section. A little back story about myself to give context to my blogs.
But I think readers will come to this section to decide if the guy writing this content has any real credentials to be handing out life advice. Like if you are going to read this stuff, let’s make sure it is coming from a legitimate source.
Well, let’s just clear that right up, I am confident there are more qualified life advisers on the market than me. I am not a psychologist or a life coach to the stars. My dad was not overly rich or poor. I am deeply spiritual but have no formal theological training.
Here is what I know about me.
I am confident I have made more than the average amount of stupid mistakes. I have trouble understanding and following social norms. Normality and living an ordinary life truly scares me. The amount of love I have found from being a parent surprised me. A little kiwi woman I married 17 years ago has my heart forever. I love the rush of hardcore physical exercise and can genuinely say I am getting maximum usage from my body.
I feel connected to a deep and protective universal force, but to date, I am still trying to understand that and realise I probably will not until I die. My brain seemed to have taken longer than most to understand written communication. At 43 years old, I can earnestly say I am addicted to learning and will be a student for life. I had been waiting to feel like a grown-up, but lately, have come to realise I am probably as grown up as I will ever be. I love dogs, and they seem to love me. I wake up before sunrise most days. I enjoy positively influencing people, growing vegetables and trying to make things with my hands.
I could list educational degrees, financial success or tell the story of a bad kid done good, but that is precisely the standard ‘meet the author’ stuff that I wanted to avoid. If you were looking for context or if you wanted to be sure you can relate to me, I hope you got something to keep you on the journey, and I would love to have you along.
Best regards,
Shannon Hadley
